Have you ever wanted to watch an old YouTube video, only to find out it's been deleted? Or maybe you tried to revisit a blog or forum thread you swore you bookmarked, only to discover it has vanished without a trace. That sucks, right? It happened to me too and that's how I got into datahoarding.
I first realized the importance of archiving things you like back in 2023, when I wanted to watch a NatGeo series called Monkey Thieves. I had memories of watching it as a little kid, and it was a pretty important part of my childhood...
I tried looking up the series everywhere. The only thing I could find was Season 2 on YouTube. Even NatGeo's official site doesn't have an episode guide for the other two seasons. I eventually found a torrent with all three seasons but it was in Russian.
For now, I've given up hope of finding the English version let alone the Hindi version. So if anyone has a copy, hit me up on Discord: @eclipse2k8.
This is exactly why you need to start archiving data. Buy cheap old hard
drives. Use tools like wget, JDownloader, and
Copyparty.

So start datahoarding now.
